Cricket formerly Bitsy was adopted in the Spring of 2016...to a wonderful couple to take her swimming and on road trips !

Meet Bonnie ! Our newest addition to the Saving Slim Family of adoptables.
Bonnie is just a sweet girl that desperately wants to bond with you. She was in the shelter for 9 months waiting...the volunteers loved her so much they kept her from being put to sleep. She is 7 years young and still likes to play and run. She weighs 64 lbs and her energy level is low to medium. She walks well on a leash and knows sit and down. She loves water and is good taking baths. She snorts and will make you laugh with her antics. We just love her and cannot wait for her to give and get the love she so deserves. We believe she is housetrained and lived in a house in a previous life. Call or email and meet Bonnie Bon Bon. 619-723-0142 Jenn@savingslim.org

Little Bear is on the right.... tan, fawn color.

Their backstory... Rocket has since been adopted, while Little Bear is waiting...
These two little orphans have a sad story. We started helping them last January when it was cold, windy & wet outside.  They had been abandoned by their original owners & were being taken care of by a woman with very little income or time for them. They were chained up & living outside. We built them a run with the help of Nina from Menifee Humane Society loaning her kennel run, got them igloo's, tarps, put mulch down, supplied her with food and got them vaccinated. Fast forward to June when we find out, they are still living there in the high heat of summer, outside. There were massive flies eating their heads, the tarps were virtually destroyed & the woman was out of food, struggling. We rebuilt the run again with better shade, water misters, a kiddie pool etc...but with the temps as high as 110F - it was no place for any animal to be living outside. We got them into air-conditioned boarding, but they got an Upper Respiratory infection so they had to leave. They were seen by a vet, put on anti-biotics and put into medical isolation boarding at $84 a day ! Ouch. They are better now and are still looking for their forever home. They are very bonded with one another and whilst we would be elated if they could go together, we understand that sadly this most likely will not be a reality.  If you can help with any of their costs, or share them with friends and family or even consider fostering them, it would help tremendously. Thank you !

Thor:  Adopted !  Thor is an approximately 2.5 year old fawn male. He is STUNNING... and a very athletic strong boy and would need a  strong, confident handler.  He would be best as an only pet in the home. He has had some extensive boot camp training. He is a very silly boy that will make you LAUGH. He is very sweet and loves people. Sadly he was dumped and abandoned by his owner in a boarding kennel and is desperate to go into a comfy home environment.
